Therapies Defined

Therapy Services at the Achievement Centers for Children

Our therapists specialize in treatments geared specifically to children:
  • Physical Therapy provides treatment to help increase the child's range of motion, strength, endurance, balance, coordination and mobility skills.
  • Occupational Therapy uses activities to improve the child's motor control, coordination, sensory processing, self-care and play skills.
  • Speech/Language Therapy helps the child develop communication skills using the most appropriate method, including alternative methods such as sign language or computer-aided communication.
  • Intensive Therapy Clinic delivers visible and sustainable results for specific therapy goals.
  • Adapted Aquatics provides therapeutic benefits while teaching swimming and water safety to children with special needs.

The children with disabilities and their families that receive any of our Therapy Services are also eligible to receive parent education, advocacy and support at no charge through our ACCent program, a service of our Family Support department.
