Achieve Consulting launched in 2006 as an expansion of the Achievement Centers for Children’s unparalleled autism programs. We feel strongly that most students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) would be able to receive top quality education and treatment while remaining in their school districts if expanded knowledge of ASD and appropriate supports for the unique learning styles of students with ASD were available.

We offer exceptional training and educational consulting services ranging from individual student programming through full classroom program development for students with ASD. All services can be customized to meet the specific needs of your district, program, students, and teachers. After an initial observation/consultation, we collaborate with your teams and staff to determine which services are most appropriate and how they will be provided.

Autism Classroom Program Development and Ongoing Consultation

Are you developing a new autism program in one or more classrooms in your district? Let our direct experience and expertise guide you through this process. We will assist you not only in the initial design, but in the full implementation of a blended-method, comprehensive classroom program for students with Autism from preschool through high school age. This state-of-the-art model incorporates evidence-based methods including the Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication related handicapped Children (TEACCH); Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS); Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA); Developmental Individual-difference, Relationship-based model (DIR/Floortime); Development and implementation of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) for students with autism, cognitive disabilities, emotional disabilities, or multiple handicapping conditions. The program will be designed to be flexible and adapt to the complexities and the changing needs of the population it supports.

Individual Student/Classroom Consultation

Is there a classroom situation or behavioral issue regarding a specific student that is particularly challenging? Let us help. We will work in collaboration with your team members and staff to analyze the situation and determine the best plan of action based on the needs of both the students and the staff involved. We can conduct classroom observations, facilitate Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), and collaboratively develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP’s). We provide recommendations regarding environmental and curriculum modifications, and provide follow-up consultation. We can also assist with the development of a social skills curriculum and/or strategies. Our recommendations are developed within the context of the resources available and the specific environment where they will be implemented to ensure success. Teachers and supervisory staff are provided with feedback as progress toward goals is made.

Training

The number of individuals diagnosed with Autism has been on the rise for some time and yet so many teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals have not been trained in effective methods to work with these students. Achieve Consulting can help.
We provide a variety of specific trainings that will give your staff the tools they need to be successful and improve outcomes for the students with autism they serve. Our trainings not only provide attendees with the critical information they need to support students with special needs, but give them wonderful, user-friendly resources that can be put to use the very next day. Trainings are informative, engaging, and involve hands-on activities that allow participants to practice utilizing learned strategies. During many of our trainings, participants are able to develop materials that they can take with them and use with their students.
