Since it's inception in 1990, over 10,000 individuals have participated in A Most Excellent Race, with many attending the Race year after year.  Most importantly, the Race has generated over $1,200,000 in funds, providing underwriting and support for the Achievement Centers' Camp Cheerful.

A Most Excellent Race features a 10k Run, 5k Run, 5k Fun Walk and the lively Camp Cheerful Classic, a 100-yard sprint by the children who attend camp.

Offering a flat, shaded course which progresses through the historic residential area of Cleveland Heights, A Most Excellent Race is managed by Hermes Sports and Events and is a sanctioned event of their popular Road Race Series.  The top male and female overall finishers and the top three finishers in each age division of the 10k and 5k receive awards.

In 2011, over 1,000 individuals participated in A Most Excellent Race.  Through sponsor support, registration fees and walker pledges, the event generated over $102,000 in revenue, exceeding our goal!
