Our son and daughter attended the program at the Achievement Centers for Children Child Development Center. We feel the program, especially relating to our son, allowed him to make significant strides, especially as to socialization, at a developmentally critical point in his life. We found the staff that worked with our children to be genuinely caring, skilled, talented and dedicated individuals. As a consequence, we believe our son made marked improvement and a foundation was laid for his future development, giving him a greater opportunity to attain his potential. We are grateful that we were fortunate enough to have been able to participate in the program. We sincerely believe it has made a tremendous difference.
Testimonial for the CDC at Achievement Center for Children, Highland Hills Campus
I am the parent of a very busy 6 year old. In October 2010 I was forced to find a new daycare for my daughter, Dylan Gray. She was not very successful at her old daycare. They had one teacher and assistant for 28 four year olds. I was told they could not take the time to deal with her behavior and emotional outbursts. I was distraught to know that my daughter had a social development delay. I searched for several centers or programs that could fit our current needs. I was referred to the Achievement Center on Northfield Rd
.
I went to interview here and immediately fell in love with the facility. It is a 3-star Step Up to Quality award winner! This already made me feel that the facility was safe and would look out for the best interest of my daughter. I then toured the classroom and was able to directly observe my daughter from a room without her knowing. This allowed both me and the CDC to determine if this would be a good fit for her. Dylan fit in quickly and began her first day on 18 October 2010. She still had a long way to go. The center had 4 teachers with only 10 students maximum on any day! These allowed them to give my daugheter more personal time to help her process thorugh her emotions and develop the proper social behaviors she would need to be successful in Kindergarten.
Children learn best through play. The structure of the CDC’s program will help any child be successful no matter what skill they are lacking. I know that because of the teachers’ dedication Dylan has had a wonderful entrance into Kindergarten. They personally care for the children and believe in firm, but fair discipline to help children make appropriate choices and learn the value of cause and effect.
