Friends of the Achievement Centers & A Most Excellent Race
The Friends of the Achievement Centers for Children is a young professionals group that helps raise awareness for the Achievement Centers and generates financial support for its programs.
The group is comprised of more than 30 active members who lend their time, expertise and financial support to help children with disabilities and their families realize new dreams and discover their potential. Since 1995, the Friends group has raised more than $800,000 for the agency.
Each year, the Friends group organizes A Most Excellent Race, a run/walk to benefit the Achievement Centers' Camp Cheerful. In addition, the group often sponsors service projects each year, including maintenance activities at Camp Cheerful.
The Friends group holds regular meetings that feature programming about current disability issues as well as updates on the work of the Achievement Centers. Interested individuals are welcomed to attend meetings to learn more about the Friends group and the agency. For information, call the Achievement Centers' Development Department at (216)292-9700.
